Have you noticed a shift in your Instagram feed/TikTok FYP?

Are you being drawn into content creators posting “day-in-the-life” videos with soothing background music floating behind a montage of basic daily tasks?

Do you feel yourself gravitating towards posts with longer captions and less polished images?

Then you may be experiencing the move towards #slowliving along with us. There are a lot of “hot takes” when it comes to any sort of trending aesthetic on the socials these days, but we want to invite you to simply go with the flow of it.

That’s what #slowliving content is all about. It’s about embracing the simple things in life. Being mindful of daily routines, being ok with a bit of monotony sometimes.

We’ve been through a lot in the past few years as a whole. And there’s a continued pressure on social in general but among business owners specifically to catch up, so to speak. To ignore the MOMENTOUS changes we’ve gone through as a society as a whole and simply get back to normal.

Slow living content is about being ok with a bit of monotony sometimes.

GRWM (get ready with me), POV (point of view), Deinfluencing – what these trends all have in common is a push back to the “let’s get back to normal” narrative that can make us feel like we’re not doing, being, or saying enough.

In our opinion, social media is a barometer for how people are feeling as a whole. How is the human experience expressing itself through 10 second clips, or photo squares?

We encourage you to embrace content that feels “right” for you right now. It’s not necessarily about jumping on the #slowliving trend, but rather considering how you create content authentically based on where you’re at as a human/business owner.

How to create slow content:

  1. Create when it feels right to create – don’t force it.

  2. Share personal, authentic thoughts and feelings. Rather than trying to teach, explain, or reason with your audience – choose to share your own state of mind or being.

  3. Don’t use filters. Embrace the real look and feel of your daily life.

  4. Skip posting every day. Quality over quantity rings true with this trend.
